Spammers are Ruining it for Everyone!

I’m in the middle of some internet marketing projects and I have to vent. Right now all I want to say is that spammers are ruining it for everyone.

Because of them less and less forum owners are seeming to allow links in signatures. This was not the case a few years back-not as far as I know.

Signing onto a forum to which you would regularly interact seemed to be a legitimate form of business networking. At least this was the case at one time.

Now because of ignorant spammers who have nothing better to do than to post annoying promotions, we all suffer. Nowadays, fewer forum masters are even allowing even one lousy link in a signature. It’s madness I tell you!

I also blame it on commercialism. It seems in the internet marketing world like it’s every man or woman for him or herself. Still, I mostly blame the strict rules of some forum owners on spammers.

Legitimate Forum Interaction

Forums are meant for personal interaction. The contributors of posts are usually expected to add something valuable to the conversation. If spammers knew that more money could be made by doing this than abusing the forums by dumping countless adds in inappropriate and irrelevant places, we would all be better off as internet marketers! Make it stop! spammers, just stop!

Avoid Ban: When on Forums, Follow the Rules!

When you post on forums, you have to follow the rules or you will get banned. If you get banned especially when using your business name it could destroy your reputation.

If possible, read the forum rules when registering. Otherwise, register and then read whatever guidelines are presented to members before posting. This is the best advice I have regarding this right now.

Important Lesson I Learned about Forum Promotions

Although it is still possible to get free exposure via signature links on forums, I learned the hard way it’s not nearly as easy as it used to be. Less and less forums nowadays are letting people have a signature in their links immediately.

So, what’s the secret?

I don’t mean to sound crude, but I’ve learned that joining a forum is much like choosing a date. If you send the signal that all you want is “one thing” you could get turned down.

In the forum-posting world that “one thing” is seeking out free advertising via signatures. If it is totally obvious this is your only intention for signing up to forums you may get banned. Therefore, you are advised to start slowly.

An Important Suggestion

You are advised to visit the forum once or twice at least, and make a few posts before you run to the user “Control Panel” to add your signature links. Say hi, be friendly, introduce yourself, and ask questions.

Reply to existing posts before starting new threads. This will help you build a solid reputation on the forum and it will increase trust in you by the current members. This is much better than just signing up to a site, dropping one post or link, and then never returning.

What I Learned about Feedburner and Hashtags Today

I just wanted to share what I learned about social networking and hashtags using Feedburner today. First, I will explain that Feedburner is my preferred service for automatically sending RSS or Atom feeds to my Twitter account.

This allows me to schedule posts ahead of time so blog entries are automatically posted. What I did not understand until today is that I could also have Feedburner create hashtags for me automatically using my blog item keyword categories.

I find this much more convenient of an operation than what I have been doing lately. Usually I search on Twitter by hand for appropriate keyword categories to which I can post my entries.

For example, if I want to post a schedule for a particular football time I might post it while adding #Packers in my Twitter post by hand. When using Feedburner I don't have to even bother as long as one of my blog has “packers” as a category. When I am done with this I can give you the link to this post on Twitter and you would see what I mean.

I will be providing further instruction on how to do this as soon as possible. For now, if you are an existing Feedburner user just go to the “Publicize” tab and then click on “socialize.” Then, you can add your Twitter account and you can have it set to “create inline hashtags.” As a result, keyword that is in the first 140 characters of an automatically-fed blog post will be automatically hashtagged after you Tweet.

Final Words

I'm still working out the kinks of this process. However, I believe this concept helps people gain much more social network exposure.

How Great Copywriting Advances Your Affiliate Marketing Plan

Bonus Tip: Write Sales Letters for a Living.

Great copy writing is one major key to successful advancement of an affiliate marketing campaign. Knowing what to say and how to say it when you launch your sites can help you generate higher sales.

Here are some simple copy writing tips for advancement of your affiliate marketing plan:

Shorter sentences are far more compelling than long winded sentences. In other words, take a breath while you are writing! Every time you would naturally have a long pause between sentences is a good indication that a new sentence should start.

You should know the product that you sell very well, including benefits and drawbacks. This will help you provide more accurate consumer experiences to new buyers who may be interested.

A product or service is more likely to sell if the seller is a believer. It especially helps if the seller has actually used a particular product, brand, version, company, or service. If not, the seller should at least have knowledge that would convince them that a product or service really does work.

Not every sentence you write should be a selling sentence. In fact, almost never should you sound like you are trying to sell. The only exception usually is when giving reviews or writing recommendations, or when you place your affiliate links or banners on your pages. Non of your articles on your sites or blogs should sound like sales letters.

If you follow the above guide when creating your copywriting content, your products and services will begin to sell themselves. Make sure you use only a moderate amount of keywords in your articles as pertaining to the products you sell.

Seven New Affiliate Marketing Methods

Bonus Tip: Download this Money-Making e-Book free for a limited time.

Perhaps you are bored with your current affiliate marketing methods. Either that or maybe you want to learn new ways to promote products online that could increase profit.

Ask and answer questions on Yahoo! Answers. Within your answers and on your profile you can link to pages of content that also has links on it to other products, services, or brands. However, keep in mind that your questions and replies need to be worded carefully. It should appear like natural conversation and not like promotions of any kinds.

Use straightforward instead of misleading advertising language. This is the fastest way to make a sale. It helps eliminate customer questions and it also reduces consumer surprise. When you are truthful in your ads you will build a positive reputation.

Use Reddit to sell your products. However, when you do this really you are submitting useful content to this site. Then, the more popular your blog or website content is, the more visible it will be to users. The result is greater exposure which helps you gain more website traffic. A similar site for submission of your content would be Digg, where top news stories are saved and popularized.

Market your product through a Youtube video. This is becoming a very popular way to promote products nowadays. However, you are fair warned that it is better to provide informative or entertaining content instead of just making a canned commercial. The exception would be when you purchase sponsored ad space.

Use humor. For instance, you can write an entertaining article that directly or indirectly involves a product or service you plan to sell. It helps if this article makes people laugh. You can then put affiliate links at the bottom of it.

Have as many reviews of your product or services for sale written up as possible. Make sure they are authentic reviews based on real experiences. Fake testimonials will get you nowhere. It might take you time to find information on certain items or services you want to sell.

You do not necessarily have to use every single one of the new promotional options shown above. However, the above list should help you get started in your affiliate marketing efforts.
